The Personal Diet That Has Worked Time and Time Again
The Personal Diet That Has Worked Time and Time Again |
I have been watching those reality shows that help people lose weight; you know the ones I'm talking about. There are several showing right about now, targeting people in the US, UK and in Asia. These overweight people are the victims of years of overindulgent eating and binging.
What struck me the most is that their most common eating mistakes, aside from obviously eating too much fast-food, they just generally eat way too much of everything. Pair that with the lack of exercise and you have a coronary waiting to happen. Some of them have even confessed to trying out personal diet plans but failing after a few days.
These shows usually have teams and two trainers; what I like is that these trainers stress the importance of portion control and the value of eating the right food. Nothing beats a balanced diet and exercise. They also like to remind the contestants time and time again that skipping meals will work against you in the long run. Remember that when you skip meals, your body goes into starvation mode and stops metabolizing effectively.
The importance of eating right and exercising is one that has been known to us for ages, to me, that is the perfect personal diet plan. You get to eat a little bit of everything three times a day. Others divide the 3 meals into six small meals and apparently, this works even better. Exercise is a known cure for a lot of ailments, so why are most people so averse to doing it?
Employing fad diets may work really fast for the first several days, but keep in mind that what weight you lose will mostly be water-weight and will come right back on the moment you drink water. Fad diets may work fast, but they have nothing on a lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise.
Sure, exercising may require a lot effort, but so does sticking to a diet devoid of any real food, that's torture for some people and that is why they fail. Once again, if you are intent on losing weight and keeping off that weight, try eating right and exercising, this time-proven personal diet plan may just be what the doctor ordered.
