Weight Reduction Products: Pros and Cons
As slim and thin have become the primary fad in this generation, weight reduction products have gained much popularity. The market has been filled with these kinds of products. To name a few, these are green tea, slimming coffee, slimming pills, slimming belts, butterflies and many others. It has proliferated to an enormous number that it is often difficult to distinguish which among the many are really healthy and effective. A discussion on some of the products like green tea and pills will be tackled on this article to help you decide on which to use.
Green Tea:
There are various articles that promise green tea as an effective slimming agent. Well, there is some truth to it but green tea alone cannot suffice. When you drink five or six cups of tea every day, you can actually lose 70 to 80 calories a day. This is done due to the process of thermogenesis, a process of heat production in organisms like humans.
With this, your metabolism will increase just like how exercise increases our metabolism. With increased metabolism, you will be able to digest the food that you eat at a faster rate. This is the reason why some friends of yours stay slim even if they eat more than you do. However, in the context of weight reduction there should be at least a reduction of 500 to 1000 calories a day in order to get that one to two pounds weight loss. Green tea cannot absolutely beat that. If that's the case then you have to drink as much as 13 cups a day. Therefore, green tea can only used as an aid. Diet and exercise are still more effective than just green tea.
Slimming Pills:
Slimming pills promises to show its effects in a very short period of time. Just like any other drug, slimming pills has to be duly prescribed by a physician. There are reasons behind this. For one, slimming pills are ideally prescribed if and only if diet and exercise are proven to be ineffective. Another reason, pills entail risks and complications. Just like any other chemical ingested in our body, it undergoes metabolism in our kidneys and liver.
These vital organs are responsible in deciding what to absorb and what should be excreted in the body. Since these tablets or capsules are not just taken on a single basis only but for a period of time (sometimes even multiple doses a day), it carries the risk of toxicity. Once our body is filled with toxins, it damages our vital organs especially the liver and kidneys. These two are irreplaceable which is why we have to take good care of them.
Therefore, it is very essential and crucial to consult the physician before you take any weight reduction products so that you'll be advised on what to really do. After all, it is your health that they are after and not the revenue they gain from buying slimming pills.
I hope you are enlightened with the things discussed in here.
