Are You Following the Right Low-Carb Diet Plan? |
We know for a fact that low-crab diet plans are becoming more and more popular these days. A low-crab diet, otherwise known as low-glycemic diet, is a weight loss program that doesn't really come with a standard format other than reducing one's consumption of carbohydrates.
Basically, the over-consumption of carbohydrates is one of the major reasons why some people find it quite difficult to get rid of excess body fats. With this in mind, it makes perfect sense to follow a low-carb diet if you want to lose weight. However, with all the misleading information that people get from various sources, many of them often get confused and end up following an improper low-carb diet plan.
One big mistake that low-carb enthusiasts make is to completely eliminate carbohydrates from their daily meals. What they often don't know is that, doing such can lead to irregular body functions, and can eventually result in increased food cravings and lower metabolic rates. What you get in return is little to zero weight loss progress.
Basically, our body needs a good amount of daily carb in order to function normally, thus, making it possible to get enough energy for the day to burn excess body fats. This is true most especially for individuals who are physically active, as the more you exercise, the more your body and your muscles will need something to "grind". Moreover, an effective low-carb diet plan must also consist of mainly good carbs as bad carbs (processed carbohydrates) won't really keep you feeling full for long. Chances are, you will feel hungry after a few hours and end up eating as often and as much as you can.
Processed carbohydrates are generally not good for the body, even to those who are not on a weight loss diet. A lot of these bad carbs can be seen in grocery stores, which is why consumers do need to be meticulous in choosing which products to buy.
One example is the ready mixed spaghetti arrabiata sauce. At first glance, the idea of a sauce made of garlic, tomatoes, red chili peppers and olive oil may sound "healthy". Nonetheless, the lining of these canned foods in general have this certain chemical known as Bisphenol A or BPA, which is a type of Xenoestrogen. Xenoestrogen was scientifically proven to cause certain types of cancer other life-threatening diseases, and having too much of this in the body may also trigger the formation of stubborn bulges in certain areas of the body. The same is true for other canned products like: pasta, rice, cereals, muffins, crackers, candies, sodas, breads, tomato sauce and flour.
So instead of buying these readily mixed pasta sauces or other ready-to-eat canned products from the supermarket, why not spend a little time to prepare fresh and organic meals as a healthier alternative? Say if you're craving for spaghetti arrabiata sauce, try buying some fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil and whip it up yourself. The rule of thumb is to go for organic and fresh food products as much as possible, and don't forget to give your body a sufficient amount of nutrients and exercises that it needs - these are your keys to losing weight safely and effectively.
